Four Syracuse Residents Indicted for Theft at Kohl’s Department Store

Auburn, NY- District Attorney Brittany Grome Antonacci announced today that KAHLILA BENDER BAKER, DATHAN HAYNES, TAYONNA ALBERT, AND TAVARIS MCLAURIN, all of the City of Syracuse, were indicted by a Cayuga County Grand Jury on one count of Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, a Class D Felony, for actions that occurred on June 11, 2023. The indictment alleges that all four individuals entered Kohl’s in the Town of Aurelius and stole more than $3,000 worth of merchandise. BENDER BAKER is also charged with Robbery in the Second Degree, a Class C Violent Felony, for forcibly stealing property while aided by another individual. HAYNES, ALBERT AND MCLAURIN face a maximum prison sentence of 2 1/3-7 years. BENDER BAKER faces a 15-year determinate prison sentence followed by five years of post-release supervision. All four individuals were apprehended after leaving the store.
The investigation was conducted by members of the New York State Police, with assistance from the Auburn Police Department. All defendants will be brought before Cayuga County Court for the purposes of formal arraignment.
All charged individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty
