Defendant Pled Guilty to Sexually Exploiting Five Children

Auburn, NY - District Attorney Brittany Grome Antonacci announced today that Darryl OVERSTREET, 19, of Auburn, New York, pled guilty today to two counts of Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance, Class C Felonies, and three counts of Disseminating Indecent Material to Minors in the First Degree as a Sexually Motivated Felony, Class D felonies, arising out of a long-term investigation conducted by the Auburn Police Department between January and May of 2022.
The indictment alleges that five male minors, ages ranging from 12 to 15 at the time of the incidents, were persuaded by OVERSTREET to engage in sexual performances that were digitally recorded and kept by the defendant. As alleged in the indictment, OVERSTREET admitted in court to intentionally engaging in sexually explicit conversations with underage victims, less than 17 years of age, via SnapChat and text messages for his own sexual gratification. Defendant further admitted in court to knowingly inducing the victims to engage in a sexual performance, by directing the victim(s) to send him sexually explicit photographs and videos of themselves.
OVERSTREET is scheduled to be sentenced before the Honorable Thomas G. Leone in Cayuga County Court on June 22, 2023 and faces an indeterminate prison sentence of five to fifteen years.
